Interview with Mr. Mohamed ElKhamawi, president of “Friends of the handicapped people Ighir association’’

Mr. Mohamed El Khamawi has been involved in many activities related to social affairs, he is always active in this area. He is also a president of an association which cares about disabled people. So I made this interview with him. 

Q: Mr. El Khamawi, hello, you’re the president of  “friends of the handicapped people Ighir’’ association , so what are your responsibilities as a president of this association? 

A: Me as a president of this association, I do all my efforts to suggest new ideas by communicating with the rest of members. 

Q: Could you talk about the most important aim of your association? 

A: So, the most important goal of our association is facilitating access to social reintegration by strengthening the capacities of people. 

Q: That seems really a very interesting thing. In a view to achieving these goals, you need some financial resources. So, where do you get money to work on these aims? 

A: the financial supporters of our association are: Tinghir’s municipality, almost 20000 to 30000 DH every year, National human development initiative: by buying equipment, the ministry of social affairs takes part in financial support too. 

Q: what are the things that you have achieved? 

A: Our association has achieved many goals such as: creating a unit equipped with the medical rehabilitation, creating a unit to produce modern and traditional sweets, providing two cars to take disabled people to the social reintegration center, and distributing wheelchairs to poor disabled people.
