Intensive rain causes floods in
Tinghir
Tinghir- the region finally saw an intensive rain that caused floods
after a very long period of drought. The rain started in the morning of Sunday
14 September and continued for 5 hours, which brought floods that stopped
traffic for more than two hours in Khabbab’s bridge.
Traffic and people were stuck on both sides of Khabbab’s bridge and argued once again
about problems caused by rain; they always suffer because of these floods. In
addition, the lack of good infrastructure, like roads and bridges, is another
reason that increases their suffering.
The work on the new bridge is very slow, and that
affects people in many ways. Because the floods always stop traffic, teachers
who live far from their schools couldn’t go to teach due to floods. But who is
the biggest victim of these floods? Naturally, the student who misses the
opportunity to learn something new from school.
Furthermore, floods brought too
much water which causes damage to farmland, and that might create a financial
crisis in many families that depend on agriculture. Moreover, Floods pollute potable
water that it becomes scarce.
But this rain is positive on the other hand since we didn’t see it for
ages .The period of drought made people afraid, especially farmers who can’t
live without their agricultural products that guarantee their daily food.
nice one
