Travelling for knowledge (2)

After coming back, the two men lived their simple lives as before. Yidir looked for precious stones in mountains and caves. He was an expert in this job and he knew the mountains by heart. The other man was unable to find a good and a stable job. He tried all the jobs they had in that area, except one. It was Saturday when he went to try the last one and maybe it would be the last one. It was drilling wells: to dig a well, find water, and then irrigate fields. He found a well to finish nearby. So, he went down to the bottom of the well to start work. He continued drilling till the well was very deep. Suddenly a big stone fell down and killed the man in the bottom. He changed to be another. His nose was in the eyes’ place and the eyes were in the mouth’s place. No one could help. So the people covered the man’s corpse with mud. Yidir was so much sad when he heard the death of his dear friend.
The young man, resolute to follow the same path of his friend, he sold all the stones that he had and decided to travel again. He decided to take his pets with him, except for the cat, because there will be problems between it and the dog. This time, he started his journey in the evening. He rode his horse and the dog accompanied him. When he was camping he heard from an old man about a scientist. But he didn’t visit him because of the bad experience he had had with his friend who passed away. So he decided to go, in another direction, to a small city known for science, through the mountains. When he was on the mountains’ bottom, he wore all the clothes that he had brought with him. It was raining cats and dogs, when he was on his way to the summit. Consequently, he got totally wet and was shivering until he couldn’t fell his fingers. Suddenly, he saw fire in a cave. When he reached it, the dog entered first, sat nearby the fire. However, it was still cold. So, the dog got into the fire to get warm. Meanwhile, Yidir was trying to make the horse enter, but in vain. After a while, it began to snow and the weather got colder and colder. That forced the young man to leave his best horse. He entered, sat down, and watched his horse being covered by the snow. The poor horse was looking at him with small eyes. It seemed as if it wanted to send a message before dying. It was getting frozen. Yidir was looking at it without turning his head; he was touched. But he couldn’t do anything for it. It continued snowing until the hole of the cave closed. Eventually, the horse died. In the morning, he found the horse as an ice and the small eyes were still open.
