The installation of a solar energy system in Afanour palm-tree project took place on 24 September in Afanour's association for development.The association constructed a new solar energy system in its palm tree project , that system is financed by AL KARIA-CATALAN Association in Spain. It contains 30 solar panels and an electric pump to extract water in order to use it to irrigate palm trees . The Afanour association uses solar energy as a source of electricity instead of traditional sources because it has a lot of advantages: it is non-polluting , clean reliable and a renewable source of electricity. Moreover, it does not pollute the air by releasing harmful gases. It is also safe and very economical . In addition to that, Tinghir area is rich of solar radiation  and that makes solar energy very effective . Solar energy is improving consistently and as our non renewable sources are in decline, it is important to move towards renewable sources of energy especially in our region.
